Sustainability is the capacity to endure in a relatively ongoing way across various domains of life. In the 21st century, it refers generally to the capacity for Earth’s biosphere and human civilisation to co-exist. Are firms with female CEOs more environmentally friendly?
Females are, stereotypically, seen as being more compassionate and caring than their male counterparts, which has prompted several studies looking into whether this stereotype bears any relation to how eco-friendly an organisation is. What it does show is that female entrepreneurs are more likely to act on environmental issues which is a positive – not only for gender equality and the environment – but for businesses looking to improve their commitment to sustainability. This absolutely DOES NOT mean men care less than women, nor does it mean men have no place in hierarchy and should be replaced by women.
